Frequently Asked Questions

What size Poodle do you breed?

We breed Purebred Moyen Poodles and Mini Bernedoodles.  Moyen means "medium". Our average size is between 20 - 30 lbs.

How much do your Moyen Poodles cost?

Purebred Moyen Poodles are $2000 and Designer Mini Bernedoodles are $3000

How do I purchase a puppy from you?

We have a running master list. To be on our list you must pay your non-refundable reservation fee.

Is there an application process?

Yes. You must fill out the application which can be found here

How do I pay the reservation fee?

We accept payment in person or email e-transfer to pawzitivelypoodles@yahoo.com

How does the reservation fee work?

We take deposits at anytime to reserve your spot. Deposits are non-refundable. However, if for whatever reason the dam does not get pregnant or a puppy passes,  you will transfer to another litter. Puppy picks are done in order of deposits received.

How much is the reservation fee?

Reservation fee is $500 and it is non-refundable. Please email us at info@pawzitivelypoodles.com if you are ready to place your reservation fee so that we can send you a form to fill out prior to firming up your spot on the list.

Where are your puppies raised?

Our puppies are raised right here in our home with our family. They receive LOTS of love, attention, social training, and exposure to all types of situations through age-appropriate stimulation.

When would I get to choose my puppy?

Clients that are on the list get to choose their puppy on Go-Home Day, once the puppies have completed their health clearance and temperament evaluations. Choosing is done in the order you are on the list.

Can I visit the puppies to get familiar with them before I pick my puppy ?

Yes. Litter visitation is scheduled once the puppies have reached 4 weeks old. This day is scheduled and held in 30 min intervals, and is non negotiable to schedule accommodations. Our puppies are very vulnerable due to their developing immune systems, therefor we only hold one visitation day to limit exposure to potential canine viruses.

What if I am not on the list? Can I still come and spend some time with your adult dogs and puppies?

Sorry, but no. It is imperative that the puppies and the adult dogs in our program have limited exposure to any people coming into our facility. This is due to potential life threatening canine viruses that can be brought into our environment. We limit visitation only to those who are on our reservation list.

What if I want to wait until a future litter? Will I lose my place on the list?

No. You will keep your place on the list, in some cases you might move higher up the list. If you are not ready to choose a puppy then you can defer your place to the next upcoming litter. You can do this for as long as you wish until you are ready to choose your puppy.

Is there a contract?

Yes. All of our puppies are sold on a strictly enforced spay/neuter contract.

Have the puppies been seen by a vet?

Yes. All of our puppies are taken to a licensed veterinarian for their health clearance and first round of vaccinations.

Have the puppies been dewormed?

Yes. We have a thorough deworming protocol. Puppies are dewormed with Fenbendazole at the age of 4 and 7 weeks old for 5 consecutive days.

At what age are the puppies ready to leave?

Puppies are ready to leave when they are 8 weeks old. Sometimes if there is a puppy that is the runt of the litter and is relatively tiny, then we will keep that puppy with mom until we feel he/she is ready. Typically an extra week or two.

What kind of guarantee do you offer?

We offer a 2 year health and genetic guarantee. If your puppy develops a life threatening illness, diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian to be genetically linked , then we will either refund your cost minus the deposit, or provide you with a replacement puppy. Your choice. This does not include illnesses that are relative to the breed and cannot be avoided. We are very understanding, and will always make every attempt possible to rectify every situation.

Are the puppies registered?

All of the adult breeding dogs in our program are registered purebred Poodles. However, because we only sell our puppies as family pets, and not to breeders ... we sell our puppies unregistered.

I want to make sure I am ready for my new puppy. What do I need?

We have a page on this website that lists all of our favourite products that we have and recommend right here

What food do I feed my puppy? How much?

Your puppy is currently on TLC Puppy food. By the time your puppy leaves us, he/she will be eating twice a day. You should place your order as soon as you find out you will be next for choosing on the list. Be prepared with food before you get home with your puppy. Follow the TLC recommended feeding guidelines on your dog food bag once you get home with your puppy. Order your food here.

What if I am unable to pick up my puppy on Go-Home Day?

If you are unable to pick up your puppy on Go-Home Day, then please let us know well in advance as we do not always have the extra space to board puppies. If we can accomodate you then we do provide boarding at a cost of $20 per night. This covers food, foundational training (potty training, crate training etc). Maximum boarding time is 2 weeks.

Are Poodles Hypoallergenic?

Yes, Poodles are hypoallergenic. While some would argue that no dog is truly hypoallergenic, Poodles are among the most tolerable dogs for people with allergies.

If I can no longer care for the puppy/dog, will you take it back?

Yes, we not only will take the puppy back but it’s written in our contract that if there is any reason you need to re-home the puppy/dog you must return the dog to us and no one else. Part of being a responsible breeder means never allowing any of our dogs surrendered to shelters. We understand that unforeseen circumstances happen in life and sometimes families can no longer take care of their dog. We won’t shame or judge you if you feel you need to return the dog for personal reasons. Please see your contract for more additional information.
